The Centre Pompidou in Paris. 1970 Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers, and Gianfranco Franchini. High tech style that is color coded. The tube in the front is an elevator.
2007, New York Times Building in Manhattan. 7th tallest building in the US
2002, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome. Open amphitheater. Pre oxidized lead roofs.
1998, The Zentrum Paul Klee, Burn Switzerland. Silhouettes of still beams and the curves blend into the hills.
2009, Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago
2001, Maison Hermès store in Japan. Made of glass blocks and makes it look like a Japanese lantern at night.
Renzo Piano creates several works that combine the architecture with the outside environment. He is also known for his "high-tech" style and his work in designing museums and other high-tech public places. I think his style is very creative and unique. I remember learning about The Centre Pompidou in Paris in French class during middle school. He seems to take inspiration from the locations around him and overall, I like his design style.
